Instructions are for Queen/Double or Twin Size Quilts and Standard 20" x 30" Pillow Case. The Northern Lights Block is repeated throughout and interspersed with Sampler Blocks: Flower Pot, Noon Star, Pieced Star, Rising Star, Pinwheel Surrounded, Square Within a Square and Rosette. Try in flannel for a warm and cozy rendition.

This simple block is as easy as 1-2-3 seams with our two-strip trick. A variation of the classic Log Cabin block, the basic Chevron block is colored two different ways and rotated to make this wonderful Linked Chevrons quilt design.

Use our easy-to-follow layouts in six different combinations to create a quilt exactly the size you want.

Also includes—

• What size is a quilt?

• How to calculate border yardage for any quilt.

• How to use fusible thread to add a binding.

All of these quilts are made following the 5 by 7 layout. Changing the cut strip width only ¼-inch on each quilt changes the width approximately 7” and the length 9”.

To make Papa Bear long enough for a twin bed, two extra rows of blocks were also added. This versatility to customize quilt sizes is one of the wonderful benefits of strip techniques.

This package includes both the Midnight Garden Wallhanging, 35 1/4" x 42 1/2", (template set N) and the Texas Star Quilt in Queen/Double, 82 1/2" x 114", (template set H).

These quilts are made in the "strippy" fashion. Texas Star blocks are set with pieced triangular units to make vertical panels.

Each panel is separated by panels of appliqué folk flowers. Illustrated instructions and full size detailed paper templates are included for each quilt.
