Your Zentangles are your personal artistic expression. They are individual works of art in your personal gallery. Your Zentangles deserve to be drawn with the best pens on the best paper. After extensive tests the kits included pens and paper that were determined ideal based on the criteria of longevity and an ideal combination of paper weight, surface texture and pen response to this paper. Using these pens and pencils on this paper is a joy.

With these components, you can ensure that your Zentangles will be a respected and treasured work of art that can last for generations. And, it feels so good to use fine materials and to experience the flow of ink from these pens onto exquisite paper.

Kit Includes: 34 tiles.
Zentangle uses a mould-made, acid-free, 100% cotton, heavy-weight fine artists' paper with a beautiful vellum surface finish. This paper is designed for etching, engraving, woodcut and other fine art techniques such as Zentangle, and is usually reserved for special editions.

Each tile is custom die-cut, inspired by this fine paper's original deckle edges. The idea to die-cut their edges arose when some early Zentangle prototypes accidentally went through the laundry. While those Zentangles came out in great shape, with their patterns not a bit faded, their edges were softened and their corners rounded. This so added to its beauty it was decided to die-cut the tiles from then on. Sized at 3-1/2 inches square, these tiles are designed to fit in pockets or in old floppy disk containers. The die-cut edges also fit together nicely in a mosaic.

Kit Includes: (2) Sakura Pigma Pens.
(2) Sakura's Pigma Micron 01 black pen for drawing Zentangle patterns on the tiles are provided. The Pigma Micron pen uses pigments instead of dyes (dyes are more susceptible to UV radiation and pollution) to draw its 0.25 mm width line. These pens are archival quality pens. When "permanence" is required of a pen, whether for marking ballots to last for hundreds of years, or by top cartoonists, Sakura Pigma is their choice. Their ink dries quickly to a neutral pH, is waterproof, chemical resistant, not affected by temperature and permanent on paper.

Kit Includes: (2) Pencils, (1) Sharpener, (2) Tortillions / Stumps

The two soft-leaded pencils are ideal and a pleasure to use for drawing strings and add the shading enchancement that often is the extra special finishing touch for a tile. Use the Tortillions / Stumps to soften shading. Included is pencil sharpen.

Kit Includes: Instruction Booklet and Companion DVD
Zentangle® Kit includes an Instruction Book and a companion INSTRUCTIONAL DVD. Given Zentangle's non-verbal nature, words are used sparingly. The DVD has no spoken words at all. People describe the DVD as "inspiring" and "not intimidating." These instructional tools are appropriate for all age groups, and when book and Instructional DVD are used together, for all language groups.

Pre-Strung Zentangle Tiles

If you ever sat down to do a Zentangle® and couldn't think of what string to draw, (or didn't want to think of what string to draw) then pre-strung tiles are for you.

If you find you keep drawing similar strings and want to break that mold and work with new and different strings, then these pre-strung tiles work great.

These sets are also ideal when people come together in groups to make and explore Zentangles. Each member gets a prestrung set. Then your group picks one or several of these prestrung tiles and each person does their own Zentangles and returns to discuss and share. Think of it as Zentangle's version of a book club.

Zentangle® Tiles are mold-made, acid-free, 100% cotton, heavy-weight fine artists' paper with a beautiful vellum surface finish, Arches Cover Artist Paper. This paper is designed for etching, engraving, woodcut and other fine art techniques such as Zentangle, and is usually reserved for special editions.

Black Zentangle Tiles are cut from the original 3.5 x 3.5" square tile die, only with black paper. Created from Arches Cover Stock (pronounced "arsh"). This beautiful charcoal black paper is 100% cotton and a perfect weight and texture for tangling.

Each tile is custom die-cut, inspired by this fine paper's original deckle edges. the idea to die-cut their edges arose when some early Zentangle prototypes accidentally went through the laundry. While those Zentangles came out in great shape, with their patterns not a bit faded, their edges were softened and their corners rounded. Sakura's White Gelly Roll Gel Pen, glides beautifully over the Black Arches paper. Very little pressure is needed for this pen to work it's magic. Simply tickle the paper and the ink to flows elegantly into your drawing.

Zentangle® Ensembles™ are an inspiring way to enjoy Zentangle®, whether alone or with a group. A Zentangle® Ensemble is a set of nine "pre-strung" tiles that fit together like a puzzle to create a composite 10.5 inch square Zentangle.

Ensembles inspire individual creativity. Its string's continuity across all nine tiles allows all tiles to fit together as a whole. It's fascinating to see unexpected patterns and relationships revealed as tiles that are done at different times or by different people are assembled.
