Hoffman Prepared for Dyeing (PFD) is 100% mercerized cotton fabric, with 220 thread count, which contains no finish or sizing. It provides the ideal canvas for your artistic endeavors, and is preferred by most dyers. While virtually any fabric can be used for painting or dyeing, the best results are achieved by using the proper materials from the start.

Hoffman Prepared for Dyeing (PFD) Fabric is used by many fiber artists to create their own unique fabrics. Many dyers prefer Hoffman Prepared for Dyeing (PFD) Fabric over all others. Hoffman's PFD does not need to be scoured, as it is ready to dye, paint or print with, as is. These is the same high quality fabric Hoffman uses to create their beautiful batiks.
