| These vintage blocks represent a time of popular revival of quilt interest, and the birth of the quilt industry and quilt guilds. From World War I on, fabric notion companies, newspapers and magazines increasingly published old block patterns and invented new ones. So the blocks on the CD are mainly from the first quarter or the 20th century, but includes blocks from the 1940's and 1950's.

| This collections contains the most ornate blocks, from a quilt style that developed in Baltimore, Maryland around 1846-1852. Typically, exquisitely sewn Baltimore Album quilts were presented as gifts, inscribed with mottos and autographs by those contributing blocks. Today, antique Baltimore Album quilts bring higher prices than any other quilt. | ![]() |
