About the Author

Heidi Pridemore grew up in Rochester, New York and is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Industrial Design. When she realized quilting was much more personal than designing products and packaging (her profession), her hobby became her profession.

In 2000 Heidi started her company, The Whimsical Workshop, which has grown into a family business that publishes quilt patterns for beginners to advanced quilters and produces over a hundred quilts a year for fabric companies. When not traveling, she lives in Arizona with her husband Matthew and their dog Cleo. She hopes you enjoy these designs and they make you smile—that is what they are supposed to do.

Book Information

Heidi Pridemore is known for her charming, whimsical quilts and the dramatic, bright colors she used to create them. The six quilts in this book incorporate vibrant colors, unusual three-dimensional elements, and interesting embellishments like buttons, beads, and bows.

The ice cream treats of "Sundae Delights" are decorated with bugle bead "sprinkles". The fishes on "Fishy Recess" have black button eyes, and the stacked columns of presents on "Anticipation" have ribbon bows. The dragonfly wings on "Out to Lunch" are attached with quilting stitches. Fusible web and fusible tape are used for the appliqué., which can be embellished with machine or hand embroidery stitches.
