About the Author

Karin Renaud was born and raised in western Washington. She studied speech language pathology at Washington State University, earning an MA in 1986. Karin married her husband, Matt, in 1990, and has been quilting for nearly as long as she's been married. While visiting her husband's family in 1990, Karin learned to quilt from a family fried, who donated her time, talent, patience, and even her fabric. When Karin received her first quilting supplies as a Christmas gift from her mother-in-law, Margaret Renaud, she was hooked. She has been making quilts for charity for almost as long as she's been quilting; since 2001 she has made and donated more than 30 quilts to Project Linus.

Karen and her husband live in Enumclaw, Washington with their children, Luki and Kaitlyn, and two springer spaniels, Beau and Amy. In addition to quilting, Karen enjoys reading, walking, and watching baseball, especially the Seattle Mariners.
