IntroductionI wrote this book in response to all the phone calls, letters, and e-mails from quilters asking when I was going to make a book of dog patterns. It seemed a natural progression, so, after attending local dog shows, researching dog breeds and drawing over 90 different dogs, I decided it was just too large for one book. I separated the drawings into large dogs and small dogs. After many months of drawing and sewing, I am proud to present the first in my series, "Darling Little Dogs." Each breed is distinct and has it's own personality and I tried to capture as much as I could of each in my drawings while still keeping it simple. All of the dogs can be sewn from just one piece of fabric, but I included options on several breeds that can be made from more than one fabric if you choose. The projects in this book are sewn with a 1/4" seam unless stated otherwise. Page 3 includes five different options for sewing the eyes. You may make them as easy or as hard as you wish. Happy Quilting.
