Use these patterns to reproduce an antique quilt or enhance an original, modern day project.

• Six historical quilts have inspired a collection of floral quilting patterns for quiltmaking and non-quilting historians. All are suitable for today's newer techniques: fusible appliqué, embroidery, fabric painting and stenciling, as well as for quilting.
• 85 quilting patterns and sampler designs were provided by nineteenth-century artists whose "canvas and brush" methods were a square of muslin and a needle.
• Large block motifs showcase fanciful quilting designs that are perfect for pieced and appliquéd quilts and projects. Antique stems and folk-art flowers fit beautifully into the "nook and cranny" formed between the blocks

About the Author

It seems a natural course of events that Roberta Benvin should combine her love of both history and quilting, and find her niche in the world of antique quilts. She is passionate about her quiltmaking, collecting, teaching and lecturing, and restoration work. Her documentation of antique quilting designs has resulted in this, her second book, and a line of quilting stencils manufactured and distributed by Quilting Creations International, Inc.
