It's A Wrap II - Sewing New Shapes - Exploring New Techniques
Start with simple clothesline, wrap it with fabric strips, and coil it into a work of art! Susan Breier's previous book, It's a Wrap, inspired crafters around the world to wrap, coil, and sew. This exciting collection offers 20 fresh projects plus handle and lid variations, and introduces new shapes, including the triangle, heart, and figure eight.
Create unique items and learn to embellish them with beads, buttons, yarns, coils and dimensional flowers. It's easy. Appropriate for all skill levels, these projects can be sewn on a regular machine.
About the AuthorSusan discovered that taking life easy wasn't all that she had hoped it would be after an early retirement. When the hectic pace of raising two boys with her husband, Jeff, and working outside of the home for many years was over, winding down seemed unnatural. She needed more out of life than total relaxation. Taking on a new challenge was the answer.
Sewing and crafts of all types had been an interest since childhood and it was time to rekindle her love of the creative process. New doors opened after she was exposed to the quilting world. By joining Lakeside Quilters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and Darting Needles Quilt Guild in Appleton, Wisconsin, her interest grew with each meeting. She was hooked and loved every minute of it.
With her quilting came the mounting containers of fabric. Scraps were building up but she couldn't part with the leftover pieces.
She started making projects with fabric-wrapped clothesline and spent her free time perfecting the method. Soon other people were interested in learning how to make the projects. With encouragement she agreed to write a book. It's a Wrap was released in August of 2006.
With the publication of this second book, Susan is busier than ever trying to meet the demand for items in her unique style. She is very thankful to have discovered a new purpose for her life that also brings joy to others. Her prayers have been answered.
