Back Cover InformationEdie McGinnis's stunning collection and longtime interest combine to make this an invaluable resource for feedsack collectors and quilters. Often called "chicken linen" by our parents and grandparents, feedsacks were the humble beginnings for many an American's clothing and quilts. Now they have become some of the most coveted fabrics available to quilters today. About the AuthorEdie McGinnis is a Kansas City Star author and editor with a unique perspective: she is a member of The Star's staff. Since she went to work there in April of 1987, she has been an advocate for the revival of The Star's tradition of publishing quilt blocks. She is now part of The Star Books staff. This is the ninth quilt book Edie has written for The Kansas City Star. She writes a column for The Star's quilt website, PickleDish.com. The Star has also published single patterns of two quilts Edie has designed. Edie lectures on The Kansas City Star quilt patterns, their history and the designers that worked at The Star when the patterns were published. She has been quilting for about 30 years and is a member of The American Quilting Society and The American Quilting Society and The Quilters Guild of Greater Kansas City.
