About the Author

Karen Flamme is enjoying a second career as a fiber artist and writer, combining two of her favorite creative passions. She began by sewing clothes for herself and her daughter, then embellished garments for others under her Thread Bear label.

Quilting is a natural extension of her love for color, texture, and design. Karen began making art quilts more than a decade ago. Her work is now exhibited widely in juried shows and hangs in numerous private collections. She teaches workshops in art quilting and always loves to learn from her students!

Making art and writing about it fill Karen's time when she is not finding inspiration from the garden, the beach, or fabulous friends and family. Karen is co-author of Thinking Outside the Block, also published by C&T Publishing. She lives in Oakland and Pebble Beach, California.
