Margaret J. Miller is a studio quiltmaker who travels widely, giving lectures and workshops on color and design that encourages students to reach for the unexpected in contemporary quiltmaking. Her full teaching schedule has taken her throughout the United States, as well as to Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Denmark. Her presentations are known for their enthusiasm, humor, and sincere encouragement of quiltmakers at all levels of skill and experience.
Having done various forms of needlework throughout her life, Margaret learned to quilt and appliqué in 1978. At that time, she was on the faculty of the Home Economics Department at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, teaching a creative textile class. She later moved to San Diego, where she started Tanglethread Junction, a pattern business featuring appliqué and stained glass appliqué designs. In 1982 she sold her business as part of her commitment to becoming a full-time quiltmaker.
Learn how a simple block can be a springboard for endless quilt-making possibilities! Just two different rotary-cut blocks, each made of easy triangle and wedge-shaped pieces, are all you need to create hundreds of quilts.
Over 60 finished quilts are pictured to spark your creative imagination. The real challenge is to stop playing with Easy Pieces blocks and make a quilt with them!
"Margaret Miller has created a series of fun lessons that encourage all levels of quiltmakers to arrange two simple quilt blocks into exciting, dynamic quilts. This book provides a lively learning experience, designed to unlock your creativity in an exciting and colorful way." Diana McClun, Quiltmaker, Author, Seminar Coordinator
