Aquamarine Ambience was inspired by the colors of the sea as they change with the water's depth; one color merges into another as the light reflects off the water, and shadows seem to hover just above its surface. So too do the fabrics, threads and embroidery of this quilt all seem to merge. The colors, texture and luster of the fabrics and threads seem to glisten and shimmer to create a special ambience that an aquamarine sea evokes for so many of us; those whose souls find peace in the sights, sounds and smell of the ocean. As each wave brings its own unique form, movement and color, so too does each block of Simon's quilt.

This book includes instructions and an embroidery design CD to make the quilt along with those for pillows and a table runner (in different color stories) written in such away that even a novice can follow them.

About the Author

Jenny Haskins is a leading force in the world of machine embroidery and quilting, an award winning quilter (having won a 1st and 3rd at the Houston IQA Market and Festival and is hailed for her original designs and easy techniques which she shares with the world.

Aquamarine Ambience is the seventh book Jenny has written and published, she is also the editor of the prestigious Creative Expressions magazine (and specials) published by Pride Publishing Australia, and in the past 15 years has designed and published in excess of 20 original quilts not to mention garments and home decor.

Simon Haskin is Jenny Haskins' younger son and also her partner in Unique Creative Opportunities Pty Limited, the business Jenny started in 1999. UCO produces design CDs, original quilts, books and magazines. Traveling around the US for the past five years, Simon has assisted Jenny in teaching, demonstrating and lecturing, and has attended the Houston Quilt Market and Festival (his quilts were on display along with Jenny's in 2005 in their own Special Exhibition), Martha Pullen's School, sewing machine Conventions and numerous teaching events all around the world. In all of these he has been Jenny's right hand.
