About the AuthorM'Liss Rae Hawley is an accomplished quilting teacher, lecturer and embroidery and textile designer. She conducts workshops and seminars throughout the world and likes to break quilting down to the basics to show students that it can be easy and fun at any skill level. As the best-selling author of ten books, including Phenomenal Fat Quarter Quilts, Get Creative! with M'Liss Rae Hawley, M'Liss Rae Hawley's Round Robin Renaissance, Mariner's Medallion Quilts, M'Liss Rae Hawley's Fat Quarter Quilts, Make Your First Quilt with M'Liss Raey Hawley and M'Liss Rae Hawley's Scrappy Quilts. Although her new PBS television series, Experience Quilting with M;Liss Rae Hawley, is in production, M'Liss still finds time to design fabric exclusively for Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores and to be the quilting spokesperson for Husqvarna Viking and Robison-Anton Textile Company. M'Liss and her husband Michael, live on Whidbey Island, Washington, in a filbert orchard. Michael is also a best-selling author, a college professor and the recently retired sheriff of Island County. Their son, Alexander, is a sergeant in the Marine Corps, and heir daughter, Adrienne, a recent graduate of Seattle University, is serving in AmeriCorps. Michael and M'Liss share their home with seven dachshunds and four cats.
