About the Author

Cyndi Hershey became interested in quilting in 1976 as a result of reading the Good Housekeeping issue that featured the Great American Quilt Festival. Because there were very few quilt shops at that time, she was self-taught with varying results! Her education and background in interior design and textiles were helpful as her interest in quilting grew.

Cyndi began teaching in the early 1980s at quilt shops, as well as at community evening schools. In 1989, Cyndi and her husband, Jim, bought the Country Quilt Shop located in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania. They owned the shop for 11 years, during which the shop was selected as one of the top-10 quilting shops by American Patchwork & Quilting magazine in 1999. They live in the Philadelphia suburb of Audubon, Pennsylvania; and their family includes four grown children and four grandchildren. Cyndi currently worked in the art department of South Seas Imports/Wilmington Prints, as well as for Martingale & Company as a technical editor. She also enjoys teaching others to quilt.
