Introduction

You have seen the book - ''Tucks, Textures & Pleats ', got the T-shirt and searched for the video! Well, unlike 'Jaws 2' and other films and books of that genre, this is not a continuation of the first success; but it is a totally new compilation of ideas and projects and can stand by itself. We will discover the novelty of dyeing, and we will investigate more ways to nip and tuck material and there are several projects for you to construct when you have a spare moment.

Nowadays, I travel internationally to teach 'Nipping and Tucking' as my family refers to it, which is a euphemism for plastic surgery in the States, and if you think for a moment - that is exactly what I do - give fabric a face lift!

Author Jennie RaymentAbout the Author

Having had no previous interest in sewing, Jennie got hooked in the late 1980's. In her boundless enthusiasm she started teaching, to share her habit with others. Her work is exhibited in various galleries and at shows and exhibitions around the world; she has written many articles for both magazines and books and currently writes for two internationally known journals. In 1994 she wrote 'Tucks, Textures & Pleats', now a classic text on fabric manipulation techniques followed by 'Tucks and Textures Two', 'Tucked Up in Bed', 'Tinkering with Textures' and recently her latest inspirational book ' Creative Tucks and Textures for Quilts and Embroidery'. All five books are about Jennie's intriguing, fascinating and innovative methods of fiddling with fabric and manipulating material.
