Introduction

If you have ever admired the cute clay figurines in the gift shop, now's your chance to learn how to make your own! Using polymer clay and simple supplies you probably have on hand—wet wipes, paper towels, a paring knife, round toothpicks, a cookie sheet, parchment paper or an index card and an over thermometer—you can hand-sculpt and then bake these projects in a snap. The fun-to-make characters include 13 animal figures and 9 magnets. We've also included a figurine and a magnet of everyone's favorite winter friend, Santa Claus. Because you can simply roll the clay into a ball and start again, it's mistake-proof. Even beginners will find the designs can be made quickly, inexpensively and most importantly ... easily.

Author Becky MeverdenAbout the Author

Becky began working with polymer clay in 1991 after a neighbor introduced her to this wonderful medium. After her first class by Maureen Carlson, Becky was hooked. She has appeared on The Carol Duvall Show, and in numerous magazines. She is a member of the Association of Crafts and Creative Industries, the Society of Craft Designers, and the National Polymer Clay Guild. She lives in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, with her husband, Curt, and children, Laura and Luke
