Back Cover Information

Imitate the luster, brilliance and beauty of gemstones, metals, and other natural materials in polymer clay, then use those techniques to create 30 stunning projects. Versatile polymer clay can simulate many surfaces, from the richness of lapis lazuli to the sheen of silver. Fold it, texture it, stamp it, bake it: you'll love the effects you can create. Best of all, you can make any of the projects—whether it's a picture frame or a wall clock—with your choice of 30 fabulous faux surfaces.

From the Author

Polymer clay can simulate a multitude of surfaces. The colors, texture and versatility of this material make it perfect for creating faux surfaces. There are an infinite number of ways that polymer clay can be manipulated to achieve the imitative effect you desire.

The book features a diverse selection of techniques, with five categories of faux surfaces. In addition to metals, precious gems, and stones, there's also a section on natural materials, such as amber and wood. The book has been arranged so you can use the recipes to follow your muse and create the projects with any kind of imitative surface you choose. It is technique-driven, so you can apply the process in any number of ways.

Although I've included many recipes here, please consider these to be just the start of your adventure with imitative techniques. Use this book to inspire your own explorations and experiments with polymer clay. Enjoy the journey.
