IntroductionCreating unusual items is so enjoyable .... and making altered books is very rewarding. Altered Books 101 gives you a variety of ideas for making these beautiful creations. Or use your imagination and our altering ideas to make books uniquely your own. The supplies are simple.... discarded books, paper, glue and assorted embellishments. You will soon have books for every theme and season plus gifts for friends and special people. About the AuthorsBeth Cote is a professional artist who works with mixed media and book art. Her focus is altered books. She travels across the country teaching at paper arts workshops from California to Texas, at conventions and retreats. She is currently the co-president of the International Society of Altered Book Artists. Beth lives in rural Illinois with her husband and three children. Cindy Pestka is a mixed media artist who teaches classes and is the owner of Northern Lights Designs, a web-base supplier of wonderful collage and decoupage papers. Cindy loves altered books. She has way too many found objects and thrift store treasures for her small Seattle home and loves using her collection in artistic creations.
