IntroductionBalinese culture and design are continuously linked with an intricate heritage enchanted by the charm and fascination of Batik fabric. Traditional Batik fabrics are painstakingly decorated by hand with ethnic patterns, hot wax and colorful dyes. Once you actually see Batik fabric being stamped and dyed by hand, it is hard to want to sew or quilt with any other fabric. Batik work requires a fabric of superior quality and tight weave in order to hold the hot wax. Hand applied stamps and colors add intrinsic value to every inch of cloth.
