  • Plot the design for your own quilt.
  • Develop your free-motion skills, including where to start, ending stitches, handling the quilts in your machine and traveling the quilting design path.

Includes CD-ROM with practice patterns and 20+ quilting designs.

About the Author

The first thing you notice when you look at a quilt made by Joanie Zeier Poole is that the quiltmaker is skillful, sentimental and unique. She is an artist who has chosen quilting as her medium.

This award-winning quilter has been creating heirloom machine-quilted artwork on a domestic sewing machine for eight years. Her quilts have been exhibited at major quilt shows, making an emotional connection with viewers and earning many awards.

Through her business, Heirloom Quilting Designs, Joanie creates original patterns for quilting, applique and embroidery. She uses her imagination, combined with training for her recent degree in graphic design, to offer new products with elegance and sophistication for the quilting company,

Joanie began as a student of master quilter Diane Gaudynski and has taken the craft to a level where she has taught alongside her mentor and other top instructors at events. She brings to the classroom a warm and informative teaching style, conducting workshops on design and heirloom-machine quilting, using home machines.

All of these talents come together in her books. As the artist, she combines her original drawings and ideal fabrics; as the skilled craftswoman, she constructs the projects; then styles the beautiful photographs for you to enjoy. As the graphic designer, she also draws the illustrations to support her unique insights for any machine quilter.

Now, with this second book in the Quilters Workshop Series, Joanie invites you into her workshop to share her exciting new concepts for navigating and stitching quilting designs.
