From the Author
I was working in my studio one day, experimenting with some fabrics
and quilting tools. I had recently purchased a 60-degree triangle
ruler, and was starting to play around with it. I soon found myself
sewing away, caught up in all of the different possibilities. The
more I played around with the fabrics and the 60-degree angles,
the more design possibilities I saw. I found that a simple 60-degree
triangle could be arranged into many differnt block options, and
those blocks could be laid into many different settings. Those ideas
grew into the theme for this book.
As many of you know, I love to sue time-saving techniques
in my patterns and I love to try to make things easier than
they look. I incorporated those ideas into this technqiue
as well, and have shared many ideas to make the hexagons
easier to assemble, from strip piecing, to specific pressing
instructions for easy nesting, to assembling the blocks into
rows to avoid those dreaded "Y-seams". So go for
it - Give the technique a try. Like me, you won't be able
to make just one!
