About the AuthorTammy Kelly is a quilt designer, teacher and author. She teaches quilting at regional quilt shops, quilt camps and her local community college, and it is her desire to someday teach internationally. She draws upon all of her experience as an elementary school teacher when planning and conducting a quilt class. She also encourages her students to be creative with fabric selection and design. Tammy's favorite quilting topic is COLOR! The fabric "talks" to her and she carefully chooses just the right color combination for each individual quilt. Exploring patterns and color values is her passion. Her favorite quilts is always the next one - the one that is yet to be created. She is inspired by patterns in nature, home décor and other artists. Many of her quilts have been published in national quilting magazines and calendars. She also published her own pattern line called Common Threads. Tammy is the author of two additional quilting books, including Snowball Quilts. A view of the San Francisco peaks from Tammy's sewing-room studio in Flagstaff, Arizona, also provides inspiration and encourages reflection. Tammy lives with her husband, Dave, and daughter, Lynnae. She feels blessed to have special friends with whom to share her creative endeavors.
