About the DesignsOsamu Tezuka has been one of the biggest influences on manga art over the years, and he was long regarded as the grandfather of anime (Japanese animations). Inspired by Walt Disney's film, Bambi, he developed the popular doe-eyed manga look that characterizes the figures and animals so well. Tezuka made his career as a manga artist during the 1950s and went on to create some of the most influential series of all time, including Astro Boy and Kimba the White Lion. His wonderful style of anime and manga has influenced not only artists in Japan, but artists from all over the world.
