About the Author

Valori Wells is a professional quilter, fabric designer, author and pattern designer. Nine years ago, Valori joined The Stitchin' Post staff as notion, book and pattern buyer. She is now the co-owner of the store with her mother, Jean Wells. Together they pool their ideas to keep the store on the cutting edge of quilting. Valori is also responsible for creating the store's web-site and managing the Quilter's Affair conference.

Valori has a bachelor's degree in fine arts, specializing in black-and-white photography. This background has contributed to her career as a fabric designer, her fabrics often portray larger-than-life flowers in updated palettes that appeal to the younger generation of quilters as well as the general quilting public. As a quilter, she is always designing quilts in her mind as she paints her fabric designs.

Valori lives in Sister, Oregon, with her husband, Ross, and daughter, Olivia.
