Back Cover InformationInternationally-known, award-winning quilter Philippa Naylor has penned an autobiographical book detailing her extraordinary career as a quilt artist and teacher. Philippa is known for her intricately designed quilts and her fans will find that same kind of meticulous detail in Quilting in the Limelight! Inside the pages of this vibrant, full-color book she shares all her secrets that will inform, inspire and instruct quilters, such as:
Philippa's strong, dramatic quilt designs attract attention from a distance but also draw viewers in to see the fine workmanship involved. She leaves nothing out of her rich, personal narrative. From the AuthorI decided the best approach for this book was to share the different aspects of my life and my desire to "Go everywhere, do everything." When you begin to read the more technical parts of the book, what I want to say is that these are the materials, the equipment and the techniques that work for me at this moment in time. They may even change in the future as I develop my work. They are not the only things you can use, and they are certainly not the only techniques. My suggestion to you is that if a method or an idea appeals, try it. It it works and makes your task easier and happier, then carry on using it, but if it doesn't work for you, then try something else until you find what you are looking for. There is no right or wrong way, there are just different ways and they are all good for someone.
