Authors Linda K. Johnson & Jane K. WellsAbout the Authors

Sisters Linda K. Johnson and Jane K. Wells are award-winning, quilters who love every aspect of quilting and just happen to be crafty, old and broad.

In 2001, soon after we took our first quilt class, we started designing our own patterns, dreaming up new patterns while non-quilters were sleeping. We then started the Crafty Ol' Broads pattern and fabric company. We specialize in designing quilt patterns that appear much more complicated to make than they actually are. Our work is often inspired by the beauty of nature, art and antique quilts.

In 2005, we began teaching and lecturing as a team. We are passionate about sharing our knowledge and love of quilting through our many classes and lectures where we introduce quilters of all levels to our unique patterns. We constantly challenge each other to create new techniques. Watch out because we are likely to "quilt talk" with anyone who is even remotely interested.

Our quilts have been selected for distinction in shows and contests both locally and nationally. Three of our quilts have appeared in two recent New Quilts from an Old Favorite books that document a yearly contest sponsored by the Museum of the American Quilter's Society. Our quilts have also been "the show" at various art galleries.
