About the AuthorPatricia Bolton was introduced to art quilting and the related needle arts in 1998 when she used some Christmas money to buy her first sewing machine. Ever since she made her first stitch (a fly) and embroidered her first motif (a spider), she has been entangled in this hobby and doesn't envision herself every breaking free. Embellished quilting and mixed-media arts have, quite literally, taken over her lifeso much so that she left her doctoral program and full-time job as a special education teacher to found Quilting Arts Magazine. Patricia Bolton is editor-in-chief of Quilting Arts Magazine, which she founded in 2000. In 2004, she and her husband launched a second publication, Cloth Paper Scissors. When she's not attending quilt shows or mixed-media exhibits, she can be found puttering in her studio or clicking away on her keyboard in Stow, Massachusetts.
