AuthorAbout the Author

After falling in love with antique quilts I decided to am may own. I love the color and geometry of quilts and what they represent—comfort, home and family. After learning how to quilt, one thing led to another and soon I was teaching the art of quiltmaking, which ultimately led to designing quilt patterns and fabrics since the coordination of prints, colors and quilt patterns created a distinctive look.

One of the reasons that Thimbleberries has been so well-received is that I make it easy for quilters to enjoy the wonderful heritage craft of quiltmaking. In today's busy world, time is limited. I show quilters what to do with the fabrics without spending a lifetime creating a quilt. In 30 years of teaching, I've also developed a system of quiltmaking that uses clear and simple instructions to help even first-time quilters build confidence and skills.

But most of all, throughout the creative and soul-satisfying process of learning to quilt—enjoy!
