With either piecing method, you are sure to get perfect points and perfectly pretty quilts. About the AuthorPeggy Waltman is a mother of eight and a grandmother of seven. The Utah resident says that her family is highly considerate of her working hours, which is why she's been able to create gorgeous quilts by the dozens. "I started quilting when my youngest daughter was in first grade," says Peggy. "That was over a decade ago. I have an autoimmune disease and I found it very relaxing and good therapy to experiment with fabrics and just see what I could produce." "After my first few quilts, a nearby quilt shop began sending people to my house to see my quilts. Entire quilt guilds have shown up on my doorstep. My only stipulation for these visits is that they also bring their own quilts to share with me!" It's easy to see why Peggy's quilts draw crowds of visitors. Whether pieced, appliquéd, or both, each is a fresh expression of color and pattern. However, Peggy says this wasn't always so. "If you had seen my first quilt, you would have laughed. It was awful. But I thoroughly enjoyed creating every bit of it. Since then, quilting has seen me through some major life changes. I believe everyone should learn something from each quilt they make. Every quilter should be unafraid to try something new.
