Back Cover InformationIf there is one thing all quilters love, it's fabric. In this book, quilters of all skill levels will find unlimited inspiration and creative projects which use fabric scraps of all sizes. From quick table runners to scrap happy bed quilts, every chapter is full of outstanding designs. Chapters include:
From the EditorsWelcome! Early American pioneers collected all the fabric scraps left over from stitching their clothes, even the tiny pieces and pieced them together to make bedcovers for their families. Nothing was wasted. Today we quilters follow in that same tradition, saving scraps from past quilting projects and collecting them in boxes and bags until we are finally ready to start a scrap project. Like the quilters of yesterday, our scraps come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Many of our scrap quilts today are planned scrap quilts with the careful placement of lights and darks, or with scraps of the same color family used in a consistent way in each block Then there are the truly scrappy quilts like those found in the first chapter of this book. These super-scrappy quilts have no planned placement of color and they use literally hundreds of fabric scraps. For those of you who would like to make a scrap quilt that is a little less daunting, look for the chapters containing holiday and special-occasion quilts, baby quilts, full-size bed quilts and quilts celebrating nature. All are made using scraps of one size or another. In addition to quilts, we've included a chapter of table runners and projects for decorating your home and a collection of patchwork bags made with scraps. There is definitely something for everyone who wants to try their hand at scrap quilting. Just select your first project and you are on your way to hours of scrap quilting enjoyment.
