Authors Jean and Valori WellsAbout the Authors

Jean Wells and her daughter Valori Wells are a well-known duo involved in quiltmaking and fabric design, and they operate The Stitchin' Post in Sisters, Oregon.

Jean established this destination quilt shop in 1975 and has since won many awards for her business and quilting skills. She has traveled extensively, giving lectures, teaching workshops and sharing her love of sewing with thousands of quilters worldwide. She is the founder of the annual Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show.

When Valori was in college, she and Jean began collaborating on quilting books with a garden flair. Valori's talents as a photographer captured nature at its best, and her inspirational images soon became the focus of her own distinctive quilting style. Her career came into full blossom when she began designing fabrics for the quilting industry. Valori returned to Sisters seven years ago to join her mother in managing the store. Currently she is a designer for Free Spirit Textiles.

Both women have been spreading their wings in the direction of soft furnishings. Oh So Easy Table Toppers is the third book in a series devoted to sewing projects for the home. Valori and her husband, Ross, recently welcomed their first child, Olivia Rose, into their family. Jean and her husband, John, live just outside Sisters, Oregon, where they have a large garden.
