About the AuthorJulie Collings grew up with four creative sisters and no television, so they filled their days with crafty messes, Julie's Grandma Eloise gave her a craft kit filled to the brim with google eyes and other such treasures and her dad, Vern, gave her the wonderful old Bernina sewing machine that is still her constant companion. Julie teachers school part time, works with her amazing friend Candice Elton planning artist retreats for The Art Nest and writes craft books for Klutz Press and North Light Books. Julie lives at the base of the beautiful Rocky Mountains with her husband, Matt and their four children. Their house is filled with art projects, bikes, cooking experiments, electric guitars and an art room exploding with ideas and vintage finds. Julie loves growing flowery things, cooking with real butter, listening to loud music, shopping for vintage treasures, curling up with a good book late into the night and making pretty things.
