About the AuthorsTracy A. Franklin is a freelance specialist traditional embroiderer. She trained at the Royal School of Needlework and continued to work there as a teacher, finally becoming Apprentice Coordinator in 1997. Today she is a freelance teacher, and also exhibits and takes on commissions. She is the author of New Ideas in Goldwork and a contributor to Royal School of Needlework Embroidery Techniques. Nicola Jarvis trained at the Royal School of Needlework and is now a freelance embroidery designer and teacher and during this time has produced embroidered decorations for British fashion companies.
