About the Author

Chris Lynn Kirsch learned to sew as a child and was taking tailoring classes by her senior year of high school. She didn't discover quiltmaking, however, until she was married and had children and her sister-in-law, Mary Sue, talked her into taking a class. Chris began making every pattern she could find, and she created her own techniques and designs when she couldn't find the patterns she wanted. She has no background in art, so finding that she could design was a wonderful discovery.

Chris's children are now grown and beginning families of their own. Chris, her husband, Mike, and their dog, Jasmine, live in a log home in the Wisconsin woods, where Chris is blessed with a new studio and the opportunity to pursue quiltmaking full time. She currently teaches quilting at two technical colleges, at quilt shows and for guilds and shops. She and her friend Wendy Rieves lead quilting cruises all over the world. Her quilts have won ribbons and been displayed internationally.
