Back Cover Information

The craft of African quilting is a beautifully textured and vibrant art form that bears testimony to the rich and complex nature of the African continent. In this, their third book, doyennes of the discipline Pat Parker and Jenny Williamson delve deeper into what it is that sets this relatively new style quilting apart from the more well-established American and European styles that have dominated quilting circles for hundreds of years.

So join Jenny and Pat on a quilting journey through their beloved country.

Author Jenny Wiliamson & Pat ParkerAbout the Authors

For twenty-five years these 'soul sisters' have been patient teachers and dedicated practitioners of the art of quilting. They are so passionate about their craft, that they insist, "the only difference between us and an artist is that we use fabrics, not paints!"

These quilts are once off masterpieces that, for the most part have been painstakingly hand stitched - some in their entirety. It is well worth the effort, though, when you consider that the end product is an artwork that can be hung in a variety of locations, from boardrooms to living rooms.

Their first book was published in 1998 to great acclaim, followed by yet another very successful book in 2004. They have since been invited to numerous international quilting shows.
