the Author
Margaret, like most 21st-century women, combines a 'proper'
job with running a house, a family, a garden and pets. She
thinks that every woman needs to escape the daily drudgery
from time to time and should have a hobby. Hers is sewing.
Always considered handy with a needle or sewing machine,
Margaret ceased to be useful when she discovered quilting
over 20 years ago. Not long after, she learned that houses,
gardens and families could run themselves quite adequately
and leave more time for quilting. The day job, as a pediatrician,
continues. It acts as a distraction from the unending grind
of stitching fabric.
Her advice to all potential quilters is to get a good husband
and keep him. Margaret is still married to her original husband,
or at least he looks uncannily like him. Early on in your
marriage, introduce your husband to the joys of cooking and
shopping! You will reap rewards in later years when he is
devoted to his kitchen and you can dedicate your time to
"finishing that quilt."
