 About
the Author
Lynne Edwards teaches and demonstrates a wide
range of patchwork and quilting techniques, both hand and machine.
She has written several textbooks that are considered to be definitive
works.
In 1992 Lynne was awarded the Jewel Pearce Patterson
Scholarship for International Quilt Teachers. This was in recognition
of her outstanding qualities as a teacher and included a trip to
the Houston Quilt Market and Festival.
Lynne's long association with the quilting movement,
both locally and nationally, has involved her in the organization
of quilt shows - from local village halls to the Quilters' Guild
National Exhibitions. She has served on the selection committees
and is an experienced judge of National Quilt Shows. She was Senior
Judge at the South African Quilt Show in 1998, her first experience
of judging overseas. In 2000, Lynne was given honorary lifetime
membership of the Quilters' Guild of the British Isles and in 2002
was awarded the Amy Emms Memorial Trophy for services to quilting.

I often incorporate folded rectangles into my Cathedral Window
project
- Combining them with the folded squares creates depth and movement
in the completed designs.
- Because of the complex folding process, the piece of fabric
used to create this folded rectangle is an odd shape.
- The Creative Grids Cathedral Window Rectangular Ruler has slots
built into the inside angles so the shape can be rotary cut.
- Cut multiple layers quickly and easily.
- This ruler cuts one size of rectangle, finished 3" x
4.5", which is the one I use most.
- The folded rectangle can be combined with 3" and 4 1/2"
finished folded squares.
