About the Author

Born in San Francisco, Kaffe Fassett settled in England in 1964 and worked as an artist. On a trip to Scotland, he stumbled on an irresistible collection of colored yarns. A few months later, he was hooked and proceeded to knit and stitch himself a career. In 1996 Kaffe was asked by the charity Oxfam to visit villages in India to advise on designs that could be marketed on the West. A wonderful range of sniped fabric was the result. After a meeting with his close friend and quilter, Liza Prior Lucy, Kaffe was urged to do a book on her great passion, patchwork. This was the beginning of a new adventure and many quilting collections followed.
