About the Authors

Joe Hesch has been working in the field of marketing, education and communication for over 20 years. A native Minnesotan, Joe has a BS in management/communication and an MBA with a minor in marketing from Concordia University in Oregon. As the owner of Joe Hesch Enterprises, he helps manufacturers and retailers learn technology and increase sales with marketing strategies and education techniques. As the former quilting and scrapbooking education manager at Hewlett Packard, Joe spent his time developing new ways to use technology in the sewing and quilting industries. Joe has appeared on over 100 national television programs, such as the popular series America Quilts Creatively and America Sews with Sue Hausmann, Joe was the technical director on two other books, Photo Fun and More Photo Fun, about fabric printing and quilting.

Whether it is through articles, classes, or one-on-one training, Joe enjoys helping people discover just how easy it is to incorporate the use of computers, cameras and printers into their craft. Joe brings his hands-on approach to every class he teaches at colleges, trade shows and retail stores.

Frankie Seme was inspired by her home economics teacher to design and create her own prom dress at age 16, and she discovered her love for sewing. Frankie pursued this passion by attending the Virginia Marti College of Art and Design in Lakewood, Ohio, where she majored in fashion design. This business grew into a successful retail operation over the last 11 years and is now known as Frankie's Fabric Photo Printing. Frankie has been featured in the Plain Dealer newspaper in Cleveland and in the Royalton Recorder for her sewing skills, design expertise and bridal gown knowledge. Over the years, Frankie has taught beginner sewing classes, serger classes and advanced sewing classes for JoAnn Fabrics as well as for her own retail business. Frankie continues to teach embroidery programs, technology events, creative quilting classes and sewing for all ages.
