Back Cover Information Fun finishing touches for quilts, scrapbooks and more. The moment quilters see Kim Churbuck's cheerful, hand-drawn quilt labels, they want to make their own. Now you can with Kim's designs, instructions, and creative inspiration. Jump in and get started right away!
Finally...a complete step-by-step book on making quilt labels. Kim has covered all aspects; from which supplies to use, to mixing and matching designs. Your labels will be so beautiful that you might be tempted to sew one onto the front of the quilt! Nancy Johnson-Srebro, author, teacher, designer Step 1 - Color softly using light colors. This is just getting the basics blocked in. Notice how the yellow does not cover the whole leaf. Step 2 - Build a second layer of color to define the highlights and lowlights. This step uses more greens and browns. Step 3 - Build more color by adding darker colors like hunter green on the leaves. Step 4 - Add a background. The colors of the leaves and flowers are light enough so they do not blend into the dark background of brown, sepia, and purple. Table of Contents:
