How do you introduce a software program to the quilting market and not have to reinvent the wheel? Jenny Haskins did just that by teaming with Quilt-Pro Systems and reintroducing a wonderful software under her new brand name Perfect Quilt Expressions Quilting Software Modules. This line consists of 5 outstanding modules: Perfect Quilt, Perfect Quilt Express, Easy Strip Piecing, Mariners Compass Collection, and 1200 Classic Foundations.

Easy Strip Piecing is a stand alone 400 block library program (no drawing tools) designed for rotary cutting and strip piecing methods. The interface allows access using a browsing window with pictures.

• Note the recommended size reference line to help you determine the traditionally used sizes for the block.
• Note in the print box example that you have the ability to select:
  • finished block size. The program only allows working with a SQUARE block as these are the components for strip piecing half square and quarter square triangles and the accompanying square patches
  • number of blocks to be made.
  • fabric strip length that will be used to cut strips, triangles, and squares.
• Changing the Size & Fabric Strip Length and Number of blocks will instantly recalculate the Rotary Chart output.

Print Rotary Chart

Select the button to view the Rotary Chart's Piecing & Yardage Recommendations on your computer.

Use the button for printout of the Rotary Chart to take to the fabric shop, cutting table and sewing machine.

In the Strip Piecing Chart box, click on the Button to see (and print) a piecing diagram of the block. The piecing diagram "explodes" the block to show you how to put it together and also letters each patch. (See next example.)

Sharla's Conclusion

If you are traditional quilter who knows how to layout and sew a quilt and all you need is the ability to print out a block and the required yardage and strips, triangles, and squares to create a block, then this program will meet those needs very well.
